Sneak Escaped

Well, we switched Sneak to a new habitat, and I guess I didn't give it a good enough check to make sure that there was no possible way for her to get out. I didn't even realize that she had gotten out. We are remodeling a fixer upper that we bought and I went to measure the trim around the front door and look what was watching me.

Sneak was on top of the front door in the door jam. :crazy01:

Forgot to mention that she is fine... I however am not. I was so freaked out. I feel so lucky nothing happened to her. I put her back in the old habitat until we could figure out how she escaped. I still cannot figure how she got to to the top of the door.

Can't imagine what you thought when you saw that snake in the door.
Small snakes always seem so fragile to me.
You nailed it on that name didn't you?

Yeah... its kinda like you got what you asked for... LOL! Glad Sneak is okay... Let us know how she got out when you find out.

lol. Yup. I originally named her Sneak because she would tunnel under the substrate to the front of the take and pop her head out and watch us. This gives it a whole new meaning. lol

I'm glad she's alright!!

I've noticed that my yearling burrows under the substrate and pokes her head out to watch, it really is the cutest thing. :D

Have you figured out how she escaped yet?

I can only imagine your surprise, like when my 4ft corn came around the side of the toilet whilst my friend was visiting...yeah HE was surprised too... I can only imagine ... but it makes me chuckle. It's always funnier when it happens to someone else, I know. I'm waiting for my turn.
I just glad to see she popped up and is fine. Sneak really gets into remodeling :D
You got lucky maybe she's a Handi-Snake.
I've seen them advertised but I thought those were flashlights?:shrugs:

Now that really freaked ME out!
Note to self: read the whole sentence before you freak!

Any idea?

Wow, I'm glad you saw her before something awful happened. I still get sad when I think about a wild corn hatchling that I accidentally killed in the front door two years ago.

My lil Houdini got her name from doing a similar thing. at night when the lights are dim she will climb up the side of the glass It took me a while to figure out how she did it 9the silicone in the corners seem to give traction and they can move most of their body upwards then once that head is on a flat surface they become escape artists and after the first time it only took her seconds to do it again. needless to say You may want to test yours if you plan on returning her to the new enclosure but all the while dont take your eyes off her. good luck
