Snow, or something else?

I hatched this little one yesterday. Parents are an Amel Stripe with unknown hets and a Lavender het Amel, Hypo ph Stripe. The first two babies were an Amel and a Normal, then this guy:

It looks like a snow baby, but would be interested in other opinions. Doesn't make alot of sense with the parents, but not impossible.

Here is a picture of the three babies:

Those babies look like a snow, an amel and an anery (or normal?)

So that would make the Orange parent an amel (sunglow maybe) stripe or motley I can't tell from the pic and that is het. anery the other Purple/Grey one looks like a lavender that would also be het. for amel.

Not 100% on that genetics aren't my best subject lol we'll see what someone else thinks

Yeah, K. Rene is right. The amel stripe is prooved het anery and so since the lavender one is het amel you got a snow since snows are produced by combing anery and amel. The statistics were %25 amels, %25 anerys, %25 snows and %25 normals. Genetics can get confusing. Nice babies!

Thanks for the opinions everyone! I am just shocked that Druid (Lavender) is het Anery. I got him from Marsha Matthews (Poppycorns) and his parents were an Opal and a Hypo Lavender het Stripe. I guess someone was het Anery too. It doesn't surprise me that Cleo (Amel Stripe) is het Anery though.

The dark one is a normal though, although VERY dark normal. Here is another picture, you can see the orange better in this one:

I love the head pattern on the little snow too, I think that is my keeper from these 3. Mom double clutched with 6 more eggs which will hatch in August. Maybe I will get even more surprises from them!

I was wondering if the dark one was possibly normal. The first baby picture only had the back half, which does look rather anery-ish. :)

Gorgeous babies you have there! It's always fun when you get a variety like that!

Is there any chance that your Amel Stripe could be het Lavender, and that we are looking at an Opal?

I'm not really very familiar with what Opals look like at birth, and agree that it does look more like a snow. Those dots remind me of an Opal. You may want to keep it behind for breeding trials though! Or at least keep it for awhile to see how it matures.

It's strange, that weird head pattern seems to be showing up in a lot of people's clutches this year, but I have never seen it in previous years.. At first I thought it was a Sunkissed thing, but I've seen it in several places now where there is no SK involved! Very odd!

I was hoping that she was het Lavender because this pairing was for an Opal Stripe project. I just am not familiar enough with Opals to know what they look like as babies, hence my asking for opinions. This baby will definitely be staying with me though and I think I will know more when the other 6 come out in August.

Congrats on this great surprise.
Think the lil normal will light up after frost shed.
Like the unique head pattern of the snow.
