So who heard about...

Yes, yuck!

Gosh don't get me started on her!!!! Its sad how spoiled she is... just shows you how corrupt the system is. Money and fame go over law.

I agree 100%. The sad part is that she hasen't learned anything, and will still drink and drive after this ordeal. I guess she needs to kill someone before she learns her lesson.

I doubt even that would stop her - mommy and daddy will always be there with millions to bail her out. I really hate that. I went to high school with many girls like that, and I don't know how they will ever be happy having everything that they want handed to them. Its sad. And these are the people who children are looking up too and wanting to be like.

I find it funny that she was released on house arrest, due to "psychological" problems. I never knew being rich and spoiled was a psychological problem.

She released a statement saying she's happy she was treated fairly and professionally. Lets review the "fairness"...

Her sentence wad cut down from 45 days, to 23.
Her cell mate was HAND PICKED.
She was released early, due to "health issues" on house arrest.

If I were a hilton, and I lived in a freaking MANSION, I wouldnt mind being on house arrest. Somehow, I dont see the fairness.

If she can do the crime she can do the time. If only we lived in a society where being famous doesn't mean you're above the law.

This whole thing infuriates me.

I've just been reading a news report on it after reading this post. I had no idea she was in trouble. One lines reads, 'If Ms Hilton does not report to jail on 5 June she will face 90 days behind bars.' I've never heard of anyone 'reporting' to jail???? Surely she'd be chucked on a bus and sent off straight from court??

Most cases, they give you to a certain day to report to jail... it gives you a way to "turn yourself in", sort of. My friends had to do the same thing with a DUI.

Every one of these out of control celebs needs a "reality manager". No fake "Simple Life" stuff, they need to come work with me or my wife to work for a month. I drive a 26' truck delivering all the wonderfully big stuff (furniture, weight sets, etc) people like to order online...From Spotsylvania VA north thru D.C., Annapolis and Baltimore up into PA...my wife is a nurse on a GI floor..."butts and guts"...Just for the summertime...I'd break Ms. Hiltons lil @ss, for sure...Just one day of her climbing in and out of the back of my (hot as heck) truck 20 times would be enough...

The cynic in me can't help but love anyone who can so shamelessly exploit their person. Paris rivals P.T. Barnum for hype.

On the subject of her release...I think it was a travesty. HOWEVER, I believe the attempt to reincarcerate her is an abuse of power. To me it's a contractual issue. The judge struck a deal with Paris' attorney to allow her to serve her sentence under house arrest. 95 percent, possibly more, of criminal cases are decided under plea bargains. Simply, the court makes an offer and the accused accepts or opts for a full trial. The judge signed the order and he ought not be able to revoke it UNLESS Ms Hilton fails to keep her side of the bargain.

We cannot have a legal system based on media polls. It should make no difference what the public thinks about Paris.

I don't like or dislike her, I thought when she reported early and dropped all the appeals, "good for her". However, I have extended family in LA County and have heard them say rather than pay a fine take jail, you are only there a couple hours, because of over-crowding. I also have an up-close look at what goes on there: a few years ago three of my grand-daughters were passengers in car, being driven by a 17 year old. They were listening to music and singing, the driver made a left turn without stopping in front of a 3/4 ton pick-up. One grand-daughter was killed instantly and other was in a coma for months. The driver was convicted of reckless driving, after she failed to show for first court hearing, was arrested and brought in for failure to appear, she was let out on OR. When she was convicted she was newly married and pregnant, the judge gave her NO jail time and 40 hours of community service ( where she worked ate GoodWill). Soooo I think Ms. Hilton has done more than her share of time and now is being treated this way simply because she is a celebrity.
I know this will not be a popular opinion judging from othe posts :shrugs: susan

I'd have to be in the group that neither likes nor dislikes her. Actually, until I read this thread, I didn't even know (or care) that she was in any kind of trouble.

Her existence simply doesn't touch me in any meaningful way.
