I dont know if this is the right forum for this, but Ill ask it here anyways.

My question is... before you handle your snake, you wash your hands right?

Is there some soaps/ingredients that are harmful to the snake and should be avoided, or are general hand soaps safe?

I use an antibacterial soap before and after handling my snakes. As long as you rinse well, you shouldn't have any problems.

I agree with Susan.
If there is still soap on your hands after washing them then you haven't finished washing them.
I also like to use anti-bacterial.

Alcohol based hand sanitizers also work well and are not harmful to reptiles. I actually use both soap and sanitizer before handling.
