Hey guys! As the title suggests, I'll soon be the owner of a Gargoyle gecko.
I've done loads of research on them but I just have a few unanswered questions. (both google and gecko forums I searched came up unsuccessful)

1. According to what i've read, you can feed garg's baby food. However, I've also read that you can't because of the added sugars (ect.) could cause metabolic bone damage. Also, because they're closely related to crested geckos you can feed them crested food diet as well. Then there's always the rout of cutting up fresh fruits too. From your experiences, what's the best for them to eat in the long run?

2. Keeping on the subject of food, how often should you feed them and how much?

3. Here's a fun one! I want to see some of your enclosures. I'm looking for a general idea of what it should look like; a little bit of fuel for the fire of inspiration if you will.

I hope you guys can help me wether you have a gargoyle or not. I like "educated" opinions too. =]

Thanks in advanced! ~ Frankie

I'm starting to really love crested and gargoyle geckos. I don't have one, but from what I hear the most common is the crested gecko diet.

Gargs eat creted gecko diet which should be mixed 1 part diet 2 parts water and left in the cage for 2-3 days before being switched out and always be available. You can premix 1/4 cup diet to 1/2 water and store in the fridge in an unused squirt bottle feeding about 1 teaspoon ever 2nd or 3rd day. NEVER FEED BABYFOOD!!! You can also provide crickets, roaches, or worms once a week as a treat or not its your choice. They are an arboreal species so they need long sticks to climb on diagonally and horizontally throughout the cage as well as vines or plants for cover which can be bought at any dollar store very cheap. Do not use real plants many are deadly so until you become educated go fake leaves for now. You can however collect sticks from outside, soak them in water for 20 minutes, and bake at 250 for an hour. Heres a pick of a chahoua and crested set-up which are a related rhac. species needing similar housing.

Thanks for the site...I should probably stop looking at this stuff as I'm getting the itch for a gecko....but don't have the funds and still have some snakes I want first.

I know what you mean but I got my leos here, and we did the cresteds (a project i may return to) but so far I am focused on my eye lid geckos.

lol, i totally understand! getting a gecko wasn't my first choice, though. i was going to get a abbott's okeetee but it didn't pass with my mom XD
after i recently attended a reptile show i learned about gargoyle geckos and i fell in love with them instantly and i knew i had to have one.

i've always had such good responses on this forum so i thought i'd bring my gecko question here on the general. glad i did =]
