I have made the choice to buy a corn snake recently. After doing my research a corn snake seemed like the absolute perfect choice. I would love to get a snow corn but I'm debating whether or not to order one from online or buy one from a pet store.

So far I have not found the specific corn I'm looking for at any pet stores in my area. So I guess my question is, are there any downsides to ordering online? Are there risks? Is it a gamble in any way?

I would recommend ordering online vs the pet store. You will prob. get a better snake, you will know its age, where it came from etc. I have had wonderful experiences buying from breeders online! Also you know they are proven feeders
Also, if you can find a reptile expo you might want to try that, I know there are some in new york - google it! That way you can get it from a breeder and handle it before you buy it!
Good luck and welcome!

Hello and Welcome to the Forums!!!

As Eriathiel said, your better off buying a snake from a good breeder.
Good luck and post picks when you get one!!!

Thank you for the info on ordering online!

I actually visited a sort of farm-market store that also has a wide variety in snakes and other reptiles. A young creamsicle corn caught my eye and I think I'm headed back tomorrow to pick him up :D, I'm going to ask the employees a few questions beforehand about the little guy ofcourse. I do plan on ordering a snow online eventually, I'm glad I now know it is a good option.

This brings me to another question, are corns usually good tank mates with one another? I've heard a mix of opinions...

Hello, welcome!!

Please post pictures of your snakes, as Dave said!

It's highly recommended that you don't keep multiple corns in one tank. There are a variety of reasons for this including stress and the fact that if one regurgitates, you don't know which one it is (I meantion this because you are thinking about getting hatchlings and it is always a good idea to be able to keep a close eye on your new hatchlings). Do a search on cohabitation and you'll come up with quite a few threads with all the info you'll need.

Have fun with your new corns!

I have another random question...

What usually is the price estimation/range of a creamsicle corn?

thanks for the feedback on everything! Very helpful. :D

ah. >< I bought the guy for $90 +_+
I had a feeling it was a little over priced but nevertheless...
I got my first corn :)

I'll have pictures as soon as he's comfortable with his new environment. he's hiding right now XD

Bad quality :_C
I plan on taking better ones and putting them in one of the photo threads.

I took some photos of my snake and I really do not think it's a creamsicle corn! It looks a lot more like a reverse Okeetee.

My photobucket links are not working so Im having trouble posting photos :( any suggestions?

When you request to get the .img codes for your photos you get something like 6 options. I'm not sure it matters too much, but I use the forth set of codes. I have no idea if this is your problem, but I thought I'd mention it.
