Sophie Rain was born and raised in a small town in Oregon, where her love for nature blossomed. Surrounded by forests and mountains, she spent her childhood exploring the outdoors, often dragging her parents on weekend hikes. Inspired by the beauty around her and concerned about environmental issues, Sophie pursued a degree in Environmental Science at the University of North Carolina.
After graduating, she landed a job with a non-profit organization focused on conservation efforts in the Appalachian region. Her work involves conducting research on local ecosystems, promoting sustainable practices, and educating the community about environmental issues. Sophie is passionate about making a difference and believes that small actions can lead to significant change.
In her free time, Sophie loves to hike the Blue Ridge Mountains, often bringing her camera along to capture the stunning landscapes and wildlife. She enjoys cooking and experimenting with vegetarian recipes, often sharing her creations with friends at weekend gatherings.
Sophie also has a bit of wanderlust. In 2021, she took a sabbatical to backpack across South America for three months, immersing herself in different cultures and documenting her journey through photography. This experience deepened her appreciation for biodiversity and motivated her to advocate for global environmental issues.
Despite her adventurous spirit, Sophie is grounded by her close-knit group of friends and her love for her home in Asheville, where she feels a strong connection to nature. She often dreams of starting her own eco-friendly business one day, combining her passions for sustainability, community, and creativity.
