Go Penguins!!!
:uhoh: I went and did my nightly water check and I guess I didn't get StanLee's top to his viv on right! About an hour later I went in to check on them before I went to bed. StanLee was gone! :nope: I tore my sons room apart searching everywhere with no luck. I searched the other rooms as well. I was up all night checking every nuck and cranny! I can't find him. :eek1:

He is the smallest of my hatchlings and I am so sick to my stomach that I didnt double check his top! Ive been crying all morning looking for him! I am so mad at my self :angry01:

On top of him being out and about, I have two dogs and two cats. I dont want anything to happen to my poor lil guy! Ive been watching the cats behavior real closely to see if they are hunting anything!

Any ideas on how to find him? Please help me

Go through absolutely everything in the tank - empty out all of the substrate and go through it with your fingertips, look inside the hides ... You'd be amazed at how they can hide themselves in the smallest space and appear to be missing when they're actually still there (happened to me!). If you've left the lid off, put it back on again quick (just in case).

Other than that, I think watching your cats is the best way to find him.

Good luck.

Oh no! I hope you find him. I know your fear, it's happened to me twice and I was terrified both times. I got lucky and found mine, totally lucky to have found them both times as quickly as I did. StanLee - come out, come out, wherever you are! I hope he does.

I thought I lost my old anery before, turns out he was just really, really well hidden in the substrate.

I tore the substrate apart no Stanlee. I left tape traps all over the house along with some bottle traps with half a pinkie inside last night.. No StanLee. While looking everywhere I notice there are so holes in the walls where they had cable coming in from previous tenants. I also realized our cables come from under the house. I had hubby go under the house (3 foot crawl space) He said he didnt see anything just a couple of bugs. He also looked for snake tracks in the dust! I hope we find him, but hope is fading with all the holes in the walls and my very curious cats! I have had zero to no sleep the last couple of days trying to find him! Hubby says no more hatchlings :(

Try leaving painters tape along the base boards and look around appliances, he's gonna look for the warmest places in the house. Hope you find him!

They are so darn sly! I had my tank lid off tonight checking and Pierre nearly got out right in front of my eyes.

Painters tape? So he gets stuck?

I wish I had suggestions, Even in my fairly small apt, I thought if they got lost how would I find them? And I don't have much furniture. There are way too many places for such a tiny thing to go. The holes would worry me as well. I sure hope you find him, I keep checking back, hoping for good news.

i lost my Lavender Hatchling a couple weeks ago but was lucky enough to find him but he ended up in my folded laundry... hope you find Stanlee soon

I dug thru all of the dirty laundry in the room my escapee was in thinking that would be a perfect spot. apparently he didn't head that way though. I am so worried for StanLee.

Since you do have cats, keep an eye on them. If theyre looking at anything curiously- check there. I wish I had watched my cats more closely and torn up the furniture they were interested in when I lost Jasper. That way maybe I would have found him first and not them :/

I had a friend lose a seven foot reticulated python in his mother's house. That snake was found inside a couch and promptly donated to a zoo (snake not chair). Even the big ones get out some time. A neighbor of mine lost his ball python. After tearing his apartment to pieces he found little Pi in the branches of his potted tree watching him the entire time. He said he looked right past her the entire morning and only saw the snake in the ficus when his dog started barking at it. Look in the obvious places too.

Have you baby powdered the floor to look for tracks?

I'd recommend putting painters tape along the edges of the rooms. Snakes will stick close to the walls and behind furniture when they move around at night. Just put it sticky side up and then check your 'traps' in the morning and evening. Just one warning, you may have to remove the tape from your cats as well but if you find your little boy, it's well worth it.
