Sterlite tubs?

I've been reading about how alot of you keep your corn snakes in sterlite tubs, with little clips to make sure they dont get out. Aaaanyway, my real question is will a UTH be OK to put on those? Without it melting and etc... I can imagine a heat lamp would melt it, would it? Also, just by a rough guess (I havent got looking yet) What would the the equivelant of 40 gal breeder?
Thanks.

you might have a hard time finding a clear tub with the same room as a 40 breeder. I use 28 qts and they have just little over the floor space of a 20L Think, if the heat mat got warm enought to melt the plastic wouldent it be over 90*F which it never should for you corn snake, unles you want to cook it.
