Hi all! I'm back with questions. My snake finally had his first shed, but has "changed" since. He is about 14-16 weeks old and yesterday I noticed a swollen area near, what I think is, his anus(?) Was he getting ready to poop? I never noticed it before so maybe I fed him too much? (I recently went to 2 pinkies, but he wasn't swollen the first time he ate two.) He had eaten 4-5 days prior so his meal lumps had already disappeared. Also, he also needed help getting old skin off of his tail. Was his anus blocked? He seemed to go back to almost normal after I got the tail skin off, however I can still see a hole that was never visible before. I'm probably being silly again? Oh, and he still bites me once in a while. I've had him for 1 and 1/2 months. How long can it take for him to become more comfortable with me? Thanks tons to everyone with advice. I'm such a newbie it drives me crazy!

Generally, a bulge near the cloaca means the snake is ready to poop. I doubt it was blocked, in fact I would say I am sure it was not, but they hold it when they are blue, because they are inactive.
