strange question - breathing?

Sandra

corn neophyte
When I was handling my new (and only) snake tonight, I noticed her body expanding and contracting. Don't ask me where along her body - she was wrapped around my hand at the time, but not moving otherwise. She was super active up and until that point, but I let her crawl back in her viv right after I saw her do that.

Was this her breathing, or getting ready to take a poo, or what? She ate a fuzzy head Saturday evening and hasn't pooped yet, FYI.

thanks, Dand. I realized that I don't know a whole lot about snakes - other than what I've read here and in the Corn Snake Manual (and seen in the wild with Copperheads). It's going to be fun getting to know mine. :)

Sandra, definitely sounds like breathing. They do expand and contract when breathing. My Mika does the same.
