Strawberry Snow Cornsnake?

TheJadeReptile

My Little Sunshine
So I was looking on Ians Vivarium and I went to look at the Strawberry Snow Corn Snake. And I saw a photo of a corn snake that has caught my interests, a Strawberry Snow Striped Corn Snake. Has anyone ever heard of these? Or know a breeder that raises these? Under a different title? I have attached a picture of the pretty snakey.

Champagne Striped Snows look oddly like your picture. Pascal Paul produces and sells them. They are said to be a line bred animal as opposed to a recessive gene like Strawberry. I would question the lineage of the animal you posted to be assured that it is indeed a Strawberry genetically and not just in name should you wish to breed in the future.
I own Paul's line, Stephen's Neon, Don Soderberg's "pink" lines, JMG's Salmon Snows and Strawberries Snows from Connie Hurley in Normal, Stripe and Motley Patterns. Testing is being done to determine what is genetic and what is selective breeding.

That is quite a group you've got there! :) Do you have any comparison pictures of each of them? Would love to see, if you do!

The selectively-bred "strawberry snow stripe" from Ians Vivarium is actually a "bubblegum snow stripe" according to All About Corn Snakes. See the following link: http://allaboutcornsnakes.com/cs_bubblegum_snow_stripe.html

Neither site mentions the Hypo or Strawberry genes playing a role in the pink coloring, so testing would need to prove one way or the other. Too many inter-changeable trade names, in my opinion.

AMEN! Once all the genetic components get sorted out I hope things get better nomenclature. A Coral Snow presently can mean: a line bred for high coral coloration snow, a hypo snow, a strawberry(hypo) snow, some of the lighter Salmon snows (especially females), the Champagne lines or just a cool name someone liked and used to market their animal. Very confusing?
