Stupid Question about Plastic Containers

Lookout, newbie here still asking dumb questions!
I am reading about people using plastic containers to keep the snakes in. I know how to make the air holes. What I need to know is how do you keep the snake from popping the top? Some of the containers don't seal tightly.
If you tape them shut, then you have to hassle with taking the tape off everyday to change the water and the substrate.
Thanks for all the advice, I need all the help I can get!!

dont seal tightly but they snap down on the ends. my snakes cant push them up enough to get out. Also I use a Dremmel tool with a 1/8" drill bit to make the holes. I make about 20 holes on each side and 8 holes on each end. Seems to work ok.

yep the binder clips work really well
also the rubbermaids with the clamps
