Sudden Activity?

For the past week my snake has been more active than usual. Its almost a year old, not sure wheter its male or female. My snake is normally inactive, i.e. just stays in one spot for a whole week at a time. But recentley, in the past few days, he has started to move around a lot, and I mean alot. I don't know why though.

I see him climbing the climbing tree, climbing the glass doors, the walls and is burrowing aswell, but not staying under it, just for a minute or two.

Is it the time of the year or something? The only thing I've don't differentley recentley is moved my snake up to the next size of mice, I'm not sure what their called, but their nearly full grown mice I think.

Could he be hungry? I feed him once every week. Is that okay?

Also, my snake can be clumbsy and fall off the glass or something when climbing, is that anything to worry about?

Thanks. ;)

At a year old, I don't think it will be because of the season (wait a few years, you'll know straight away if it's male!!).

Once a week feeds are just fine for a year-old as well. The rule of thumb is as you feed larger items, feed less often also.

It's absolutely normal behaviour. Sometimes you won't see them for a week, and sometimes you'll wonder if they're actually still in there :|

Corns are notoriously excellent at escaping, so just make sure it's not possible, and enjoy being able to look at you growing little boy or girl more often than you usually would :)

My suspected male amel is doing the same thing. He is so active now. He was even out when I got home from work today at 3:00 PM. Up until the last couple of weeks, I never saw him. He'd wait until everyone was asleep before he would come out. Mine is almost two years old, so I think he may be seeking a mate. Unfortunately for him, my oldest female is not nearly old enough to breed.

However, I'm enjoying seeing my amel out and about.

I think they might be able to tell its mating seanson when they are young like that. Mine is a year and a half and Im 90% sure he's male and he has been more active this last week than ever in his life. So I think they can tell, maybe they aren't as crazy as they will be when they are older males but it has to be instintive.. . so..? I dunno.. . :)

I have been experiencing this as well! lol my ghost who is about a year and a half now has been crazy active lately! very interested in what I am doing and what is going on around me!

but this past week or so, the weather has certainly changed here so I guess "spring is in the air" lol

mines just rely active, but you lot are lukcy, since mine has bred he knows its thier and hes not intrested in eatin, iv now decided trying to feed him b4 my female, so that if he doesnt eat i can feed the female, this way im not wasting her any food, im currnenyl feeding her, a medium/large mouse every 4 days, shes getting so fat now from her eggs!! im so happy.

any ideas on getting my male to feed or when he will?

he will eat when he is ready, some males go through the whole season even longer without feeding, its not a big deal chances are he won't starve himself. I've heard of healthy males going many months fasting, don't worry too much he'll eat when the time is right.

my 2 adult corns are out 24/7 now.. they REFUSE to use there hide.. there always cruisin. .i love it :) something must be in the air lol
