My anerythrestic motley is a total sweetheart. He is very docile/makes an excellent hand pet. I can even relax and watch somethimg with him already. What a great first snake :)

My first cornsnake was like that!! I have a few like that now. Congrats on getting such a sweetie!

My first snake was (and is still!) just like that. She was such a sweet little hatchling. I would sometimes carry her around the pocket of my hoodie and she was just peek out but not try to go anywhere.

My first girl was like that too! So sweet and calm, and fun to watch. She just laid 8 slugs, I didn't expect them and was worried about her, now I have to get her fed and back up to weight.

I have done several rescues since then, the only other girl I have (beautiful white Snow) is a total witch! You just come near the viv and she coils and rattles her tail, comes at me with a vengeance when I take her waterbowl to change and strikes every time. She is 13, so maybe she is just a cranky old lady, but I don't know how well she was treated before someone wanted to get rid of her.

Thank you all! It seems I got very fortunate.
Of course, after starting this thread, he decided to give me a "present" while I was relaxing with him. Not his fault at all, but the girlfriend thought it was *hilarious.* It's not the first time I've taken a "shot" from a pet...I have an a. avic, which are notorious for shooting poo. She has gotten me a lot more BUT spider poo is easier to manage than snake lol

Yeah, you will quickly learn to recognize the signs of an oncoming poop. If he is sitting very still suddenly and raises his tail, run for some paper towel!
