Tail?

I know snakes are more sensitive to touch than most other animals, but my male will go at lightning speed to run away if you touch his tail by surprise. He even will give a good rattle, but nothing defensive. Is this typical of corns? Having really sensitive tails? Or do I just have an easily spooked boy? Keep in mind, this is my only snake that has never struck anything. Not even food.

It's probably a little of both. Most snakes tend to favor their tails a bit. Try to make an effort to handle him more toward the center the body.
