I was housing my 2 corns toghter in one Viva. Before anyone says not a good idea they are now separated and will not be going back toghter. I am now making them each new cages that I can stack ontop of each other.

But I would like to know what he was doing and why if anyone knows. TO me it looked like he was tiring to mate the other one who should also be a male.

They are both about 9 months old.
When they were in the Viva Checkers was taking a ride on Goku. He would climb on to the others back. Looked like he was taking a ride and tiring to get closer to the other snakes head. Has anyone seen this behavior before.

i have never seen it before but if they are both males then it is most likely a territorial/dominance thing although are you sure they are both males? go to search forums and put in "gay snakes" in keyword and read about that thread

Hi! Well that is exactly what my snakes did, it looked like they were mating, than it looked like they were fighting. One was being very aggressive. They have been seperated for about 2-3 months now. I had the amel sexed very young and they said they thought it was a male. I know the Creamsicle is, so now I keep looking or eggs, just paranoid. But my guess is territory thing. Not much help. susan

my two used to do that - well the biggest would chase the other one round the viv & slither on top of him... little one used to shoot away so quick, I was worried so I separated them sometime ago now..

& also mine are 2 males too... sometimes they wouls like 'shudder' aswell..

I find it much better now I have them separate, not just because of that but its also a good way to keep an eye on potential problems with the individual snakes..

Males can do some riding on top of each other, usually with jerky movements, it is about territory/dominance indeed.
