Teaching a Snake?

I was looking around on google and found an article about a man how taught his snake to do things. I was wondering about what you could train your snake and how to train it to do things. I know that they have poor eyesight and do not hear like we do....

What type of snake did that man have? I have to say, snakes arent that intelligent when it comes to doing "tricks". If thats what you mean.
(at least thats what I think) (and we're talking about corn snakes right? or snakes in general?)
I think the only training you can give your snake is teaching it how to be docile. For example: Holding it every day (of course nor when feeding) and showing the snake that you mean no harm and all that good stuff. But other than that...

I guess it would be possible to identify certain habits a snake has and CALL them tricks. Like Pumpkinseed's apparent fondness for hanging from the arm of my glasses like a really long earring.

Do you have a link to that article? I would be very interested in reading about what he taught his snake to do.
