the flourescent light...

i bought one of those combo lights that has 2 bulbs and a flourescent in it. ive been through 2 now... the flourescent lasts about 2 weeks then craps out. its not the bulb, its the light assembly.... my question is, anyone else have problems with these?

also (the biggie) how important is that light? its said to aid in digestion. will the snake be fine with only the light from the heat lamp?

Errr... those things are expensive, and your snake doesn't really need it. All fluorescent bulbs do is provide light. Since corns are nocturnal, they don't need that. Also, you don't need heat bulbs if you have an under tank heater.

The UTHs help with digestion, not the lights. If you have an UTH set to ~85, using a rheostat or thermostat, your snake will be good to go.

lol, i just noticed, when the flourescent bulb was on, he'd hide in the top corner of the tank by the lid all day and night, but now that its off, and its "dusk" in there, hes freaking out crawling everywhere..... well, as long as he doesnt need the light, im happy with it. thanks
