The Right Type of Heating

Seems like my cornsnake does not like to "bask" under the hot spot. I have a 75W Basking Heat Lamp above one side of her cage, seems like the only time she hangs out underneath it is when she's about to shed and in blue eye mode. Other than that, she doesn't care for it and usually hangs near the water bowl, or inside her hide in the cool side.

I now decided to use a heat pad, is this better or not? What is best for heating this normal cornsnake?

And by the way, does anyone know if a cornsnake and Burmeses Python needs infrared or UVA, UVB light?

Fact or fiction?

I seem to recall reading (I think on this list) something about Corns snakes regulating their temperature better from their bellies? Do any of you experienced Herp Heads know if this is true? If so, it would stand to reason that a heat pad would be better.

???
