Thermostat Modification?!

blueturtle

Aida's the name!
So I've been looking for a thermostat to use for the corn I'm hoping to get this weekend and all I've been able to find thats reasonable are the household A/C Honeywell thermostats. Is there anyway I would be able to add a probe to it?

Any ideas would greatly help!

I'd wait and get a thermostat designed for reptiles. In the meantime you could make a rheostat to control the heat. Here's a link on how to make one:

I use this brand of thermostat and have no complaints:

They also make a rheostat but I recommend the use of a thermostat for its ease of use and peace of mind.

Hope this helps!

As long as it's digital adding a probe should be pretty easy, but you wouldn't want to. Any modification would lower the accuracy of the thermostat.

You would need to do a lot more modification to make it control anything other than a furnace though.

ok so mods to the thermostat are a no go. I'll have to shop around some more for a thermostat.

Thanx for the imput!
