One thermostat can run two or three vivs, but the tanks must be the same size and the UTHs must be exactly identical- even including the same manufacturer. And you still will see variation in temp, especially if the vivs are stacked rather than side by side. So you need to know the max temp on the warm side in both.
If you want an inexpensive, reliable thermostat I would recomment the Alife which is sold by The Bean Farm.
I have multiple homes running off one thermostat. Be wary if you use an extension cord though. That all of them are plugged into the same length one even if some do not need it. As resistance in the cord could change temps in the home.
Well if his vivs are side by side they should be able to plug right into the thermostat. The cords should be long enough, if worse comes to worse put the heat sides on the inside so both cords are as close as possible to the thermostat.
