im currently trying to feed my baby corn for the third time but it doesnt look good. ive tried tuna scenting, braining, warming up the pinkie to a hot temp, moving the pinkie in front of him, but nothings worked all i have left is that if he doesnt eat this one ill hav 2 try live or lizard scenting because there were live anoles in the cage in addition to pinkies where do i buy lizard maker cus i dont want to have 2 buy a dead anole every week (if he even makes it that far :awcrap: ) im also gonna ask 4 a feeding record AND FOR ALL THOSE THAT LIVE IN SOCAL IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN TO A PLACE CALLED REPTILE FINDERS IN LOMITA CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THOUGHT OF IT!!!

I would definitely try scenting with an anole or with Lizard maker. I think you posted about this one in another section and I told you then, that if they had anoles in there, you would probably have a rough time. If this is the one you posted about, you said it was about 10" long, making it a just out of the egg neonate. I'd be surprised if it's even had more than one meal before it was sold. One big problem with buying from petstores.

My local pet store carries it. Maybe the place you bought it from carries it. They'll need it to get the suckers to eat. You can also order it online. BTW, I've not heard of Reptile finders but I'm not that close to Lomita.

i just wanted to know anyone's input on it because that is where i got my corn they are "natural" there so they only feed live :twohammer place seemed clean though

If they feed live pinkies, I would try that next. i would go out and pick one up and leave it alone in a paper bag until it feeds. It may be a picky eater that likes to be by itself.

You've been advised by more than one person to wait 3-5 days between feeding attempts. You tried on the 26th and you've tried again on the 28th. That's only two days. Try waiting at least three days and use a live pink before going with lizard scenting. The good news is that even babies can survive several weeks without food. So keeping trying and let us know how it goes.

Yeah just let him be alone fro awhile and let him get used to his surroundings, I made that mistake. I came home with him and didn't let him rome around for a couple of days and he got too stressed to eat, so I let him be for 2 days, and warmed up a real nice warm pinkie. And brained it and got his cage already for night time. I change the light bulb to make it night in there so he comes out, for some reason he only eats in the dark. So I made the pinkie dance and he took it right up. I was also afraid of mine starving, but It worked!(Thanks Muggle!) I'll keep my fingers crossed that he eats for you :)

If you do have to resort to anole scenting (as a last resort), you don't need to buy a new one every week. Buy one and keep it in the freezer. Thaw it out every week when you feed and use it to scent. It'll last a few weeks that way.

ALso, I've heard that using the anole's saliva usually provokes a better feeding response, so try swishing the baby mouse around in the lizard's mouth.

man i just found out that my corn is really young and IF he has eaten anything it would have been the anoles in his (or should is say theirs there was at least 20 of them in one 10 gallon) cage but he must have eaten one anole because he has pooed on me and regurged also :uhoh: they hadn't even given him a pinkie yet so my only hope is 2 try lizard scenting, forcefeed him (the pet store said they would forcefeed him for me), or return him and exchange him 4 a different maybe better eater :(
