I just got my February copy of "Reptiles" and theres an article in here that absolutely disturbed me. I won't type it all out, seeing as it's rather long but I'll give you guys the gist.

The Alice Springs Reptile Center in the Northern territory of Australia was broken into in October. The perpetrator not only broke in he bludgeoned some reptiles to death and fed others to a 10-foot-long, 440 pound saltwater croc. During his 35-minute rampage turtles, western blue tongued skinks, bearded dragons, thorny devils and a nearly 6-foot-long female Spence's goanna were lost. Total 14 animals were lost.

WORST PART: They got this all on camera and they know who did it and where he is, but can do NOTHING about it. Why?
Because the perpetrator was SEVEN! A SEVEN year old boy did this to those poor animals. The laws in Australia say that they can't press charges because he is under ten. Also, under the current laws, they can't do anything to the parents either.

A SEVEN YEAR OLD?!?! What in the hell is this world coming too? What could POSSIBLY posses this child to do that?! It makes me sick.

Okay, I'm done venting now. I thought you might find this interesting, well not interesting, but appalling. For those of you who get "Reptiles" the article is on page 17 of the February copy.
 
There's a thread about that somewhere on here that was posted when the incident happened. Very disappointing that nothing is being done for the child. He's obviously very troubled. What's worse is that he has an older brother who has also done damage to, *I think* the same reptile house. Those wonderful parents have done a great job with their kids.
 
That's awful. I can't believe they can't do anything and he'll probably end up doing it again or at least something similar.
 
Next time, he'll be feeding puppies and kittens to the croc. Maybe he, his brother or even better, his parents, will get a bit unlucky and slip...Oooops! Bigger snack for the croc!
 
I remember when this was going around... I think there was a list with it as well on the thread on BP.net that listed all the "famous" serial killers and which animals they killed/hurt when they were kids and then listed their crimes as adults...

I tried poking around for it but apparently that thread got posted in the Quarantine room of which I don't have access... I will try to look for it more later.

I would guarentee that this kid (and his brother) are on some sort of mood altering drug. Look back and you will see that most if not all serial killers were on mood altering drugs as children and/or adults. These drugs make these kids crazy......so many parents choose medication over parenting and it is sick, sick, sick!

It is sad that nothing will happen to this child. He knows he can get away with it....why wouldn't he do it again. He obvisouly enjoyed it the first go round, why not indulge a second time! Sadly, no punishment by the government and I am quite sure there was no repremand from the parents......or probably just said "Oh No, we need to double his medication so he will be a "better" kid.

Mark my words, we will reading about some sort of public shooting or the like with his name or his brothers names attached.
