I have some dark substrate and a very small snake. How will I know if she piddles/poos? I know she's been drinking (watched her drink, it was kind of cool, never seen a snake drink before) and I know she'll have to go, but how can I find it to clean up after her? I don't want her living in a yucky tank. I know it's kind of a stupid question, thanks for any responses.

If it's a real smal snake(hatchling) and you're using something like repti bark, it's hard to find. Get yourself a plastic spoon and scoop around the perimeter of the tank. Look for dark blackish stuff. The urates will be like white powder on the bottom of the tank.
There are no stupid questions when you're starting out. If you don't know, just ask.

Hi there

You will have more difficulties to find anything on dark substrate. Nevertheless the urin will look white so therefore stand out. That can be an indicator. The rest rarely comes without it. So you'll be alright with the dark substrate.
