Liverpool will aim to get back to winning ways when they travel to Brighton for the fourth round of EFL Cup on Wednesday.

The Reds battled back from a goal down twice to secure a 2-2 draw against rivals Arsenal in Sunday's Premier League clash, which saw them slip to second place in the league standings.

Brighton were also held to a 2-2 stalemate by Wolverhampton in their last Premier League game
The Reds won in 2024 under Jurgen Klopp, the German’s second League Cup title for the Anfield set, but are now led by Arne Slot as the Dutchman pursues Liverpool’s 11th and his first crown as Merseyside hero.

Brighton have never won the League Cup and new boss Fabian Hurzeler already has his Seagulls further than they went in 2023 under Roberto De Zerbi, a third-round exit at Chelsea ruining their tournament.
Arne Slot is likely to rotate much of the squad for this upcoming tie against Brighton. Joe Gomez, Wataru Endo, and Jarell Quanshah will probably feature from the start.

Alisson, Diego Jota, and Harvey Eliott continue to be sidelined for Liverpool, while the likes of Federico Chiesa along with Conor Bradley remain a doubt for this match.
Liverpool predicted lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Kelleher (GK) — Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Quansah, Tsimikas — Endo, Gravenberch — Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo — Nunez.
Injured: Chiesa (doubt), Bradley (doubt), Alisson, Jota, Eliott
Suspended: None
With Georginio Rutter Cup-tied, Evan Ferguson is likely to start up front for Brighton along with Julio Enciso.
Joao Pedro, Solly March, Yankuba Minteh, Matt O'Riley, Adam Webster, and James Milner are all sidelined with injuries. Skipper Lewis Dunk is also a doubt alongside Jack Hinshelwood.
Brighton predicted XI (4-4-2, right to left): Steele (GK) — Lamptey, Van Hecke, Igor, Estupinan — Adingra, Baleba, Wieffer, Mitoma — Enciso, Ferguson.
Injured: Pedro, March, Minteh, O'Riley, Webster, Milner
Suspended: None

Brighton vs. Liverpool Prediction

Brighton come into this game with a slight edge, as they are unbeaten (two wins and one draw) at home in their last three matches with Liverpool across all competitions.
Despite the potential problems Brighton can pose, Liverpool should come away with a result in a closely contested match.
