My cornsnake has been burrowing under the aspen bedding after shedding... i know it's prolly not too hot cuz i decided not to use the heat lamp all day yesterday, and still she never came out until at night when i found her inside her hide. Anyone know why she may be doing this?

Corn snakes love to hide. They feel safe and secure when hiding. It is perfectly normal for your snake to hide either in the aspen bedding or in a provided hide. Plus they often like to sleep during the day, which (like most animals) they would rather not do out in the open.

As they get older, many corns spend less time hiding, but it varies. Some like to hide their whole lives. My yearling's favorite place is now up on a branch where I can see her. Lucky me! :D

Yeah, my 8 month old has recently taken to sitting ontop of her hot-hide to digest her food. Worried me to start off with, but she is perfectly happy. And im happy to see her!

My snakes are hiding most of the time, but they have different times they come out. My big snow is usually only out in the early AM, while the other two prefer the late evening.

They are always hiding while they are digesting, unless it was a real small meal.:)

I just fed it 2 pinkies last Thursday. It is her 2nd time I feed her 2 pinkies. She's getting big, and so is her apetite.
