My snake, Rick, is still less than a year old... I think. But anyway, I made a humid hide the other day after finally getting a hold of sphagnum moss. I added room temp water, put on the lid with sanded down hole, and he crawled right inside.... and hasn't come out. It has been over a day. I didn't watch him all night, but this morning he was under all of the moss. He is still about a week from going blue as far as I am aware. Should I be worried? His humidity stays around 45-55%

and as a side note - if the Humidity stays around 45 to 55% as you stated, you probably don't really need a humid box. But it's ok to have one.

The humidity here changed drastically from 20% to 60% and so I just keep a humid hide in the cage all the time, and he can choose if he wants to use it or not.

His last shed was just pretty sketchy, so I decided it was time to let him take care of himself. Even with two baths before shedding, his tail still stuck along wish some scales along his sides.

I leave humid hides in all the time though I let the moss dry between sheds during the summer. In the winter when we drop to 25% humidity I keep damp moss in all the time.
