Well we did it took off this morning to LA and bought myself a beautiful two year old snow. Yes I know thats a bit old but we got to handle him at the store and when he was put back in to the cage he shot to the window and looked at me all most begging to be brought home. I figured that was a sign.
He is doing fine after the car trip and is settling in just fine. But I am going to have to get a bigger tank or at least longer hes about four and half five feet I think. we made sure he was a two year old and not and full grown adult. The place we bought him deals in only reptiles it was clean and all the animals looked very healthy including the four monster pythons they had topping out at 250 pounds. So we will feed him this Thursday keep Nix on his normal routine. Wish me luck and thank you all for your input and your help.

Matt :flames:

a 5 foot long 2 year old? I got mine when he was 2 and he just hit 41" a few weeks ago (he's about 2 1/2 now). I'd say either your snake was powerfed or he's older than they're telling you.

either way it doesnt really matter, hes a beautiful snake, very tame and we are happy to have him :D We didnt get him for anything but a pet :D

Congrats one your new family member. The important things are that he/she is healthy, has adequate conditions and most importantly, that YOU like it. Age .... pfffft, it's not like a pet store has never been wrong. lol One thing you can be pretty sure of is that it isn't a hatchling. :roflmao:

Or the snake really isn't as big as they think. That's probably more likely of an answer.

exactly, we havent run a string along him yet (because we left him alone for the weekend) to see exactly how big he is. I think he's probably about 3 to 3 1/2 feet but when he's all curled up :D

Yeah we did just want a healthy happy snake :D and so far so good lol. We will be feeding him later this week so I hope to get some pictures up. and hopefully an accurate measurement.

Does anyone know where to get bulk aspen online? I cant find it in anything but small bags around the pet stores and was wondering if someone could help :D
Thanks a ton!
