Total N00b Question (easy?)

I'm a Daddy!!!
Hey guys,

I didn't know where else to put this question, but I'm curious about Albino Corn snakes...

Do they all have red eyes? Are there any that don't have red eyes? I'm about to buy one and my wife doesn't want red eyes (says they are evil)... however I haven't seen these snakes yet. So I'm hoping.

:shrugs: Any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks guys!

Yes. If there is any amelanistic gene (lack of black piment) expressed in homozygous state (visually), then the eyes are red. Some appear to have pinkish eyes almost, so if she's a "girly-girl" then that could be a selling point :grin01:

Ultramels have ruby eyes... they're in-between amel and hypo in appearance. But all animals homozygous for amel have red eyes (though some may have little concentrations of dark color towards the front end).

Technically a black albino (or anerythristic - anery for short) is an albino because it lacks one of the color pigments - red. It's not albino in the sense that most people think it to be but it is. If you like the red maybe a hypo diffused or just plain diffused (also known as bloodred). That would give you the bright color without the red eyes.
