Hi All! My name is Katie and I am interested in trying my hand at snakes, specifically corns, milks and kings, so I joined this awesome forum yesterday. Lots of good info on here... thanks so much for contributing to the knowledge pool =)

If interested, here is a list of what my husband and I keep. Lots o' fun schtuff!

- Mantids (right?!)
- A variety of tarantulas
- Giant centipedes & millipedes
- Scorpions & vinegaroons
- Pygmy leaf chameleons
- Beetles
- 2 Turtles
- Roaches
- 2 Kitties
- 2 house rabbits

We just need snakes now! Looking forward to chatting with y'all!

Cheers,
Katie

Hello and welcome to the forum. There are a lot of great people here with tons-O-info. All your corn snake questions can be answered here.

Hi there,
Glad you decided to say hi. Some people lurk around for weeks b4 saying anything. We will tell you anything you would like to know about keeping snakes. I'm new to the corn world but I have 5 snakes already. They are addicting. I'm not exactly sure where you are located in WA but there is a Reptile Expo in Seattle in March

Seattle Metro Reptile Expo
La Quinta - Tacoma, WA

Here is a website link
http://www.pdxreptileexpo.com/

I got two corns for Christmas this year and I went to the Portland Expo last weekend and came home with three more. An expo is a great place to meet new people and find reptiles of all kinds including many varieties of corn morphs. Check out the Photo gallery on here and the for sale section. There are some amazingly beautiful snakes out there. I had no clue how many there were. Happy to aboard. Keep us updated on your corn searching :D

OMG the Expo is in TACOMA!!! It's Just called the Seattle Metro Expo lol You totally need to go!

Welcome! Gig Harbor -- I've been there! I went to HS in Bellevue a long, long time ago. Corn snakes are addictive. I went from 1 to 3 very quickly, and I expect to get to 10 this year. But it sounds like you have a pretty good zoo going already so this won't surprise you too much. Have you got those giant hissing cockroaches? They are quite impressive.

Thanks so much for the warm welcomes!

Hey K-Rene, you're great! I did know about that show and am soooo excited to go. It appears that I have a pipe dream of finding a Nelson's albino milksnake but I'm crossing my fingers. Sounds like your collection is pretty awesome :)

Howdy Betsy - Yup, we do keep those Madagascar hissers. One of my favorite things to do for guests (I know this sounds creepy to some, but maybe not) is give one of the large males a little squeeze and get him hissing like crazy. They're funny...

Thanks again!

-Katie

I been looking to get into mantids myself. They are so interesting! Got a whoole lot of snakes, a squirrel and 2 colonies of ASF rats. Welcome to the forum!

Nice! You have a pet squirrel? That's rad. Do they make good pets? Oh gosh I hope I'm not saying all this and it's a future snake meal LOL. :) I want a prarie dog but my husband says I'll have to live in the yard with my prarie dog if I bring one home. He's joking but I get the hint. Well I don't pretend to know everything but if you get some mantids and have any questions feel free to hit me up.

welcome what an interesting array of pets Glad to have you here I am sure you will have plenty to add to our forum also!

Ohh no Walnut will never be anybody's meal. I raised her from a tiny baby! I'll be sure to ask you any questions about mantids and if you want, ask me questions about corns. I can try my best to answer them or point you in the right direction of where to find the answers. :)
