Trapping an escaper?

Hi all,

one of my corns decided that her viv wasn't interesting enough to stay and made its way out through the flymesh of the vents. Well she can be anywhere. Does anyone have an idea how to trap her? Did anyone ever build a "snaketrap"?
Maybe there's a possibilty to put out a bait or something like it.

Cheers

well, i read this trap somewhere, get a tub or container or wotever, big enough for your snake, has to have a lid, cut a hole in the side roughly the same girth as your snake, and put in a fairly large mouse into the tub, large enough so he can swallow, so, the snake goes in through the hole, eats the mouse, then is too fat to get back out, if this is confusing, email me or post message me and i will write it out in more detail.

i remember the first time my snake escaped and when i found it i held it for just a moment and it sprung up and bit my face!pick it up slowly so as not to frighten it.i have also noticed that snakes dont go more than a few feet from where they escaped.good luck with the hunt!:)

One of my hatchlings escaped twice both times we found him in the cats food its lucky my cats never found him first .

:p

lol, a couple weeks ago my 3 year old snow got out of his cage.
i dont even know how he got out. the top has a lock on it,and it was slightly weighted down(aparently not enough)I noticed him gone during the nightly rounds, spent hours looking for him, finally gave up at like 4:00 in the morning and went to bed. The search finally came to an end the next day at around 2:30pm when i found him 2 rooms over on top of a storage crate!
He was fine.A little cold and a bit peeved that i had stopped him from his adveture, but he got over it and decided that maybe going back to his warm hidebox wasn't such a bad idea.:)

Try putting some of those loud, crinkly plastic bags around where you think the snake might be.

Then stay up at night and listen with a flashlight- when you hear a rustle go and get it.

Make sure the escape way if blocked before you put the snake back in again... they are very good at remembering escape routes.

If you have wood or tile floors you can dust them with flour in the evening and follow the snakes trail the next morning. This assumes the snake travels that night lol.

THanks for your answers. I'll post if I had a success. Let's hope and keep fingers crossed.

One more suggestion would be to go into the search on this site. There's about a million (o.k. I'm exaggerating....) on lost snakes and how to find them.

She's back

Hey guys,

I put in another effort to look for my snake today. And guess what it was rewarded after 2min. I found her in the utility inside the mulchbag. Although I looked in there at least three times before.

Anyway. I am so happy. I really needed it today as it was a nasty day at work and I was angry frustrated and upset. It's all good now.

Thanks for all your helpful answers.
