Tree Climb

I went to get my baby corn out of his viv. and couldn't find him anywhere. I then noticed there is a small hole at the base of this tree for him to climb. I think he might be up inside the tree but the hole is so small, I can't tell. Any ideas on how to get him out, and is it okay for him to stay up there for awhile?

I'm sure he's okay. He'll come out eventually whe he's ready. If you're really worried, you can try to poke him out but something blunt, but don't forcibly pull him out, because it might hurt him.

He's up there because he feels safe and secure. I wouldn't poke at him, I'd just check back at dusk and dawn when he's more likely to be active. Then, you can figure a way to plug the hole or you'll be placed totally on his schedule.:grin01:

Yeah, it's kind of small, and I don't even know what I could use to poke. It's a weird tree. I'm just waiting. Patiently waiting...

Well, I've still be watching and waiting...I've even tried using a pinkie in chicken broth as bait and he won't come out. Not sure what to do if he doesn't come out. I watched all last night and all today and nothing...

:shrugs:

Can we see a pic of the viv. Mine always got me worryed for hiding in a place i never thought possible. Pic will help.

I have had loads of creaturs get stuck inside various ornaments, from fish to frogs. I have learned that generally speaking, if they can get into the ornament, they can and will get out... but only when they feel like it.

Keep watching and waiting. And as soon as you see him out, grab that tree and plug the hole!! Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah, last night I left a pinkie on the opposite side of the viv. The good news is, he came out to get the pinkie, the bad news is I was asleep and couldn't get to the tree in time....

I'm still watching though.

D'oh!!!:grin01:

I once had my corn go into a speaker! So I had a pet speaker for about 2 weeks! she would come out at night and eat then go back in! Then one day I was getting ready for work and she came out! Just wait and watch he will come out!

Aw man, lucky you. I want a pet speaker. All I had was a pet chair for a while until I poked Rose out of it. I can't exactly put an entire chair in Rose's viv. :grin01:

A while back we had a very creative forum member who lowered the temperature of a ceramic ornament into which her snake had crawled. A tree limb isn't the best conductor of heat (or cold), but a zip lock bag full of ice wrapped around the limb should have the snake out within a half hour.
