Tub sizes??

MedusaCorns

peek-a-boo!
Hello,

Hubby has been designing a new rack for our snakes and we both can't seam to agree on a tub size for the adults. He wants 32 gallons and I want 40 gallons or bigger. Yes, it maybe a little much??? But I like to spoil them and I also like to have room for a good bowl and a hideaway, maybe a fake bushy plant or something but I want them to have some room too. He says they don't move much but I dunno I just want them to be happy. OR, I want to be happy LOL.. I just like them longer

What size would you think for adult corns? The adults are pretty close to 40 inches long already? I think??? Hubby knows ;)

Thanks~
Christine

Personally, I don't like keeping adult corns in anything smaller than a 40 gallon glass tank, I think the measurements are 36Lx18W. Not sure what size tub that would be. I know most people keep their corns in 32qt tubs, hope that helped a little.

I've seen adult corns in as little as a 16qt
and as big as a 66qt.. All snakes are healthy so
it depends on you I guess.

I like the 32 qts. My adults don't look to big for them. I would love to keep all of my snakes in huge tubs, but they take up so much room. ;)

The nice thing about larger tubs (I have 66 qt, which is like a tall 32) is you can fit more stuff in them. There's room for a decent water bowl, a couple hides, vines, maybe a hammock. The snake actually has _something_ to do, different areas to go to.

Hi, I think maybe I meant Qt. I dunno I like them in their 20gal long aquariums but that's' just me :)

Thanks for all the helpful info's

I've been using 32 qt sterilite tubs but I'm wanting to give the larger adults more room so I'm building a rack very soon using 41 qt sterilite tubs.

41qt tubs are what I plan to put my adult BP and adult corn in. For size reference, sterilite's 41qt tub is 34"x16"x6" and a 20 gallon long is 30"x12"x12".

A rough measurement of my 32qt sterilite tub gave me 20"x"13"x6".
