Tv into viv

Hi all, I want to turn my old rear projection tv into a viv, but i need to know if my snake and bedding and what not can go onto painted polystyrene or if i'd have to put something else on top of the polystyrene i plan to use to build up the base.I hope this made sense to you guys.

Put something else one it, something solid, easy to clean. I'd be afraid of bacteria collecting in the polystyrene.

what if it was coated in pva glue? do you think that would work?
If you not could you suggest anything?

Yep, PVA coating should work - pretty much any water-based coating would. Polystyrene is closed cell foam IIRC, so it doesn't suck water into it. It's sensitive to solvent-based spray paint, but PVA coating is often used to solve (bada-ching) this.

yes for sure! this sounds soo neat!

My Mom told me that she used to know a man that had a big T.V turned into a Viv for his Iguana. She said that it was really cool, she still remembers the Iguana because of it! :p

Sorry guys, i had to scrap the project in the end due to moving and just didn't have the time or space.

I've still got the image of it in my head so when i get some spare time and the funds to get another telly i'll be sure to post up a thread on it.
