This is my '08 caramel motley het. amel from PJC Reptiles. He's always been the quirky one, and he looks like a lizard when he peeks out of his tub. He's always been a slow feeder, takes him about an hour to decide he wants to eat his mouse. I learned that he likes the smell of dog a lot more than he likes the smell of mouse.

Well, this day I hadn't even touched my mom's dogs, but I had taken him out and he smelled them. I went to put him up, and he did this. Again. And it makes me laugh every time. It kind of hurts, but it's more funny than anything.

Have you considered dog-scenting his mice? No, really- I'd be curious to see what he thought of that!

I've thought about it, but my mom said she doesn't want her dogs smelling like mice, hahaha. That and I'd have to borrow someone's dog because Mom lives two and a half hours away. Now I just hold him in my left hand and a mouse in my right hand and keep him there 'til his pea brain clicks into feeding mode. Takes about five minutes now instead of an hour when he's left in a bag.

What great shots! I've not been bit in my two weeks of snake ownership, but at least now I know sort of what to expect. Thanks for sharing.
