Do both heads seem to be fully functioning? Both tongue-flicking, eyes tracking, etc?

These always make me sad. It must be a difficult existence. Do both brains try to control the body? Do signals to the heart and lungs interfere with each other?

I would be interested to see an x-ray of those two. In one picture, it looks like the doubling goes pretty far down, but is still connected to look like one snake neck. Does that make sense?

Has it shed yet? I wonder if both heads will "decide" to shed at the same time..

Also, let us know if it eats. At least the heads are pretty separated.

*Edit - when I gave this guy another look it seems to me that the two heads have identical head patterns! That's really interesting. Now I want to do a google search to find out if all two headed snakes have the same head pattern.

wow dude congrats! havent seen a double header for long time now!
did the snake eat yet??

Two-headed snow cron

I've put a few short video clips on youtube. Search for two-headed corn snake. You can see both heads tongue flicking. It's only four days old, and I've tried to not stress it much, except to take pics and video for our local newspaper. It depends on which angle you look at it as to which head seems to be more in line with the body. Sometimes it seems as if the neck muscles cross over somehow. Neither brain seems more dominant at this point. It does remind me of the rat snake that lived to adulthood, the "Golden Girls." I do expect it to be able eat. Does that mean both heads will eat? Time will tell. I'll try to post more pics and video as it gets stronger. I've not tried sexing it yet. Any ideas for names? Thanks, Mike

Jessica all "siamese" twins of any species should be completely identical, cause it's caused when a set of identical twins doesn't split and seperate properly :)

Awww... hope the little one makes it and thrives. Very pretty baby. I wonder how well 2 headed reptiles usually do, and their expected chances for a long and comfortable life?

That is amazing. I am glad it is doing well so far. A two-headed ball python was born this year too. As far as I know it is still doing well and eating.

For names, if they survive:

Boys: Blue-y and Dash
Girls: Snow and Flake (or ball, or something)
Or, my favorite: Sam N Ella! Like my BDs
