Ultramel finally laid!

Well, I know I'm later than most people who have already had pips, but my Ultramel laid her clutch today. It's from a Ultramel (het Caramel, 66% het Motley) x Butter Motley, so I'm hoping that the het Motley proves out.

She laid 12 eggs sometime early this morning, of which 3 are definitely good... for now, *crosses fingers*. The others look like they could be slugs, but they're much whiter in appearance (and a little more full) than the the slugs that she laid last year (without even having been breed), so I set them up in the incubator as though they had potential... we'll see.

Either way, I'm mostly happy to see that she passed them without any trouble. And hopefully the three good ones remain in good shape, because I'm very excited to see what these babies will be.

Side question...? How many of you have had suspected slugs that have successfully gone on to hatch? I ask because I'd like to gauge my possibilities for some of these 'slug looking' eggs. Either way, thanks in advance for the input, and I'll post pics of the eggs at some point here soon.

Congrats, Michael! That's great to hear! :) Hopefully they all turn out to be good eggs and give you beautiful hatchlings.

Thank you very much :)! I figured out a great way to candle the eggs that I had last year (turning the lights off in my room, and setting a tiny flash light over the tops of the eggs), so I'll try that in a few days (if the slugs don't look bad by then), and hopefully I'll be able to tell whether the slugs are slugs or not.

Thank you kindly :)! I'm really, really hoping for healthy babies!

On another note... I checked in on my Anery (het hypo) Last night, only to find 6 eggs (only 1 looks good) in her lay box. I bred her with my Granite (first time breeding him) in the spring, but I only put them together once. She went into shed a few weeks ago, so I set a lay box in with her just in case, even though she didn't appear gravid whatsoever. Turns out she was gravid :)! She laid last year as well, also within a day of my Ultramel (which is kind of strange that it was the same story this year), but last year all were slugs. She didn't look gravid then either? On top of that, her eggs are unusually long and slender... will post pics later!

Anery eggs!

Ultramel eggs! *the photo's a little washed out from the flash, but these eggs were still pretty white*
