Under-fed 13 year old snake?

I went to a friend's house the other day and noticed that they had a corn snake. The snake is smallish, around 24" long and thin. My 16 year old snake is probably quadruple this one's size.

We got to talking and come to find out their snake is only being offered one fuzzy every 4-5 days. I told them I thought that he was being grossly underfed for his age. My 16 year old eats 1 large mouse every 14 days.

How would they go about feeding their guy more appropriately for his age and size? They mean well, they just didn't know he was being so underfed. They are willing to make corrections, I just didn't know how to advise them.

WWYD?

I didn't mention in the body of the text, only in the title, but their snake is 13 years old. They got it from a friend as a hatchling.

That was my suggestion; that they go to the next size up (hopper, I think) and go a few more days between feedings.
