USF/Polytechnic Field Trip......

Old School Snakeman
Mostly for Floridians but all are invited. Earlier this year as some of you know i was on the new USF campus demucking. In November the site began construction. The owner of lthe land is a herper and if you remember gave permission to hunt. Snakes are moving folks. EDs, Corns, Yellow Rats. Garters, Racers, Cottonmouth, Ribbons and a special favorite of most people have been found in the last 5 weeks.

If interested it will be on St. Patty's Day ( tried for the week after but our host will be out of town). There at least 12 miles of paved road for cruisin. We will arrive at 3 or 4 for some walking/herping and our host will show us where the Gopher Tortoises wre relocated to check holes. All you need to do is upon arrival sign the permit to be on the land. And if we're having a bad night there, the Green Swamp is five minutes up the road.

Some of what I've caught recently.....

Oh ya, the first ED is different from the second. The Rough Green is huge. Those who know me know I have big hands. If any interest I'll post direction as we get closer.;0)

Where would everyone meet up? Not sure exactly where you will be. Thanks for letting everybody know about this. Some field herpin' would be fun.

OMG!!!!!!!!! I've been meaning to get out of the house and go herping. This could be the perfect time to do it! I'll have to see if I can budget it for gas, and also time. Lol
What area is this?

Gofride, I will be posting directions here shortly, by Wednesday.

Robbie, come on out, see if ya can get Nanci and Katie to come. It is in Polk County where I have found the Blue Garters. It is on the corner of I-4 and 570 ( the Polk County Parkway).

Exit 38 off I-4, South toward Lakeland. Second left at North Combee. Before your turn is finished there is another left into the property. All that is required is to sign the permit to hunt when you arrive. Will meet around 5:30pm.
