Using air fresheners or candles in the snake room

Hey, I burn "Scentsy" wickless candles around the house. Basically, it's scented wax that melts in a little bowl over a bulb and makes the house smell nice. No wick or flame involved. I don't have them on all the time. Anyway, I was going to put a little plug-in version into a room where I keep some of my snakes (which is about 12' x 12' - it also happens to be where I have workout equipment). I'm just wondering if it's safe to do this in a small room with a closed door where there's not as much air movement as the rest of the house...?

I'm super paranoid and won't use anything smelly near the snakes. I don't think there is any data that says you shouldn't use them, though. Moderation is probably the key...

In terms of the scent and stuff, just to be safe, keep them as far from the snake vivarium as posible.

Snakes generally give out their own particles into their local atmosphere (I read that on here, I'm still a newbie too) so I doubt it'd be that bad anyway. Plus, their only scents you've got, nothing that harmful, if harmful at all.

Eh, I've decided against putting anything in that room. I've got the Scentsy things in other areas of the house where I have tanks, but those areas are very large and open - lots of air movement, lots of ventilation, and the tanks are far from the Scentsy unit. My snake room doesn't smell anyway! I did have to move my new cricket-keeper out to the garage, though. I had no idea how bad crickets would smell! Pee-Yew! (and I feed those to my Beardie, not my snakes!)

I've read about snakes developing respiratory infections from incense with flames. I would imagine snakes function much like other animals, in that some are more sensitive to others in certain situations.

I do burn incense sometimes, but only like, one stick a month and not anywhere near the viv.
