I have always had a hot and cold hide in my vivs but I recently moved into a rack system. I never see people using hides in there tubs. I realize a tub in a rack is sort of like a big hide and I know it would be a lot of work in a big collection but I still couldn't take the hides away. They spend so much time in them. Now that they are in there they still use them all the time. Has anyone noticed a big change in behaviour when taking hides away. One of the problems is with the heating. It's back heat and when I get it to the right temp everywhere in the tub the warm hide stays a lot cooler. I'm worried the snake might choose feeling secure over being in a warm enough spot. Also, the snakes can climb and do climb over their hides so their surface area is still the same but it just seems much more crammed when there in there. Any thoughts from experience?
