what BRAND AND TYPE of uth or heat pad works best, when i say best i mean it gets temps up to a hundred and you have to get a rheostat.

Ultratherm gets my vote. Cobra Heat mats by T-rex get special mention (I think they're the same exact thing as the ultratherm, just under a diff name).

As much as I hate the company, four paws UTH work best for me. Zoo-Meds get too hot and I don't trust the milar under tank heaters.

Could Someone...

Just use a strip of Flexwatt as an UTH? What would be the best choice between Flexwatt and a regular UTH? Any suggestions?

Flexwatt

All I use is flexwatt. It is a great product but there are precautions that must be observed. If you use flexwatt, it must be regulated with some sort of temperature control device. I run mine vertically on the back of a rack instead of under a glass aquarium. However, it can lay under a stationary aquarium. Don't slide things over it. It will rub a hole in the tape, and that will create a fire hazard.
