So i have two really small uths that j have under my tanks right now. Do these take up much electricity? I have heard some people say they dont. Does it depend on the brand? I really dont want to see a huge electric bill :(

Very little, you won't see a change in your electric bill. What brand of thermostat are you using with them?
 
I havent needed to purchase a thermostat yet. The ones i have are 4 watt and i take the temp of the bottom inside the viv and it stays constant at about 85-86. My corns are very comfortable in the warm vivs so it seems like thats not to hot for them.

I've got 5 racks with thermostats running here and I haven't noticed much of a difference in our electric bill. I think its only been about w or 3 bucks but not anything insanely high. Our racks are 5 shelves with heat tape and we've even got other critters using heat pads and lamps.
