Vent probs

Sheepy

My snake has been fine and no probs since I have had her 3+ years. This week has thrown me a real dozzy. Her vent looks red and swollen. She passes some urine not (white stuff) but nothing else. She has eaten normally and has never been near a male. Will be ringing a vet tomorrow but has anyone any ideas. I have tried bating her in a warm bath quite a few times in case of constipation.

Thanks

That really does need to be seen by a vet. I think they will give it some antibiotics for it.

Yeah, i'd get her to a vet.

P.S. I see you live in Weston, is that the village in Hertfordshire?

Defiantly check with the vet as swelling and inflammation are likely signs of infection...

Also that is a gorgeous snake!

OH shes really swollen, definately get her to a vet. They should be able to fix her up though :) I have a ball python that has had a problem in the past with defecation and has ended up with a red vent, but it was never swollen like that and I treated it with neosporin. She could be blocked and its causing pressure and swelling but i dont know much about that..
Good luck and keep us updated..
