Okay, no my snake isn't sick or has feeding problems YET. However, before he does, I was wondering if any of you know a herp vet in the Frederick MD area (Rockville is good too). Or if not, do any of you know of a web-site where i could look one up? Thanks in advance!

Eastern Exotic Veterinary Center in Fairfax is the closest. Also check out Dr. Scott Stahl, he has his own clinic now, awesome herp vet. Well I go to EEVC and they are great, have great Docs and are very easy to get to. Their phone number there is 703-654-3100.
check their website too.

Dr. Haas is the BEST!
:)
oh, if these dont work for you you can try to find one at this website:

Thank you, both. I will check out the web-sites and the doctors you suggested and see which seems to be the best =).

Thanks again!

Thanks for those websites Skye! I was not sure where one was in my area either. My vet doesn't treat reptiles (at least he knows his limitations!).

Those links Skye posted are cool that they list all the vets around.

They listed a vet near my house, which we actually took our kitty, and turtles to. But when my sister was taking the turtles (baby turtles had to get vitamin A shots....poor little guys), I had her ask if they saw snakes just in case. And no.....they don't see snakes, and only the one vet sees turtles. So definetly call before you concider them the vet you're gonna take your snake to.

You are so right, I've being preparing myself, just in case! Great idea!
BTW, It would of never occured to me that a "reptile vet." wouldn't include snakes? Weird!

I am lucky - I see one guy for snakes, and a different local vet for lizards according to which I think has more experience with each.

A word to the wise though - if you do take your snake in to the vet - take it in a container which is NOT see-through. You would be surprised how many people are really snakephobic, and sit there in the waiting room holding their fluffy poodles (for want of a better example) and having a partial heart-attack just from seeing slithery movement in your transparent box. Do them and your snake a favour and make it so they can't see each other.
