Viv necessary?

How necessary is a viv? I dont have one yet and i gotta feed my little guy today, also how long do they stay in the viv once you start feeding? Thanks

Do you mean a spare Viv (as in a place to feed?), if so it need not be anything special, just somewhere secure where you snake can eat, if you feed it in the regular tank there is a danger of the substrate sticking to the food and your snake eating it, also they begin to associate your hand going in a food time and get touchy when its not feed time, you could just transfer her and her food into a paper bag to feed her or just a shoe box, but store these inside your regular tank whist it eats, (locked!) I would give her about 20 mins after her meal then let her out to find somewhere to digest. :bird:

I just use a disposable tupperware type container...put SMALL holes in it for air (these are best melted in than cut).

Most of my very small guys I feed in their enclosures...until they get larger...
