Vivarium varnish still smelly?

OKay, my vivarium has, since being varnished.

Stood in garage for 3 days, in my warm lounge for 5 days, and had a desk fan pushing air through for 5 days. The last one should have really aired it.

Will yacht varnish ever stop smelling completely. I'd say the odur is less 'fumey' and more of a 'smell' now. I.e. when you paint a house it smells toxic and bad, a few weeks later it just smells new. If you know what I mean.

I'm not gonna take chances, I'm gonna leave for longer. Just wanna know.

* Is the 'smell' really bad for snakes, and if so why?
* Will the varnish ever have no smell. I know some people say 3 weeks, but surely with a large fan on it 24/7?

Ideas?

A fan wont make a difference, the varnish will still let off the smell for a few weeks, could be more depending on how many layers you put on. If you’re in no rush to move your corn just leave the viv and the smell will go over time.

The varnish should have very little or no smell when its done, to speed up the drying I turned in the heating in the viv.

Ah - I though the fan would 'evaporate' the varnish, so thought it was accellerating it.

I shall put the heating back on then.

I obviously wanna get Suzy in as quick as I can as his old viv is small and crappy, this one will be nice for him .... but I'm doing it at the expense of his health.

How long did yours take to dry?
