waiting for a poop

:shrugs: I have a 5 month old female corn. She eats a 2 inch fuzzy (length not including tail) every 7 days. I don't handle her
until she poops(2 days) but she ate on thursday and hasn't pooped yet (Sunday morning) I know she hasn't eaten any substrate, I always watch her when she eats. Should I be worried?

Are you feeding her in her "main" cage/tank? If so what is the substrate?
If it is aspen or another wood chip product, I recommend feeding in a separate container.

Sorry forgot to answer the original question, I would not be worried. It has only been three days. Besides she may be waiting her you to hold her, so she can go them. That is what mine seems to do. :grin01:

I feed her in the same cage that I keep her in but I only use an unprinted newspaper for substrate. Should I wait awhile before handling, since she hasn't pooped yet maybe she not done digesting. I don't want her to regurge.
Thanks for replying,
Lise

Usually people wait 48 hours to handle after feeding. If you do handle her just watch to see if she is getting ready to poop. Mine will start to clinch her belly and sort of bend near her vent. That is when I know I have to put her down.

They don't always follow OUR schedule.

She may also be getting ready to shed. Most of mine will hold it and poop either with their shed or just after. I wouldn't let that keep me from holding her either. But just incase, don't wear any light colored pants.:grin01:

She will be shedding within the next few days, hopefully she doesn't hold it that long.
Thank you very much for your helpful information.
Lise
