Hey guys and gals, im looking to get either a Miami Phase or Butter 2011 corn hatchling. if anyone has one for sale, male preferred but it doesn't really matter, please either PM me or post in this thread how much and how much for shipping to 91505.

thanks

Look up Carol Huddleston, Low Belly Reptiles. She's got the best Miami's.
I have a couple normal hatchlings from a Miami X Tessera clutch that are Miami-ish, but Carol has the best Miami's, hands down.

thanks will look into that.

any leads for a butter? im only finding them randomly and most are either old posts or on hold, or come with a $60 shipping charge. how is it that one place can charge 55 for overnight fedex, while another is 35? when i worked in shipping making fedex labels all day, i dont remember next day ever costing more then $40.

Do a search on here, I thought I saw some not too long ago, but I don't watch for butters, so I'm not much help there.
I think some people get a better discount if they do a lot of shipping. Don Soderberg does a lot of shipping, so he gets a really good deal on shipping through FedEx.
I don't ship that much, so most of my shipping costs between $50-$60 on average.
Carol is in California, I don't remember where exactly, so if there is any shipping for you, it won't be that much.
I know when I was looking at shipping to someone in my state it was less than $30. Distance plays a part in the cost, as well as whether you have it shipped to a FedEx facility to be picked up or delivered to a residence. Hold for pickup at a local FedEx center is cheaper, than shipping to a residence. That is preferred anyways, with many breeders here, less chance of the truck delivering late, & the animal(s) being stuck on the truck for several hours.

Ah yeah that makes sense. Its just really hard for me to justify paying as much or in some cases double the cost of the snake just for shipping, when im not going to be using it for breeding purposes just as a pet. but i guess if i want a fancy butter or miami phase i gotta pay right? lol.

and i did search, and found only 1 normal butter hatchling thats already on hold, and the rest are all motleys or stripes which i dont want to pay more for.

i guess i could always "rescue" one from my local reptile store or petco if i dont find anything

Don't give up, they pop up randomly.
Also, watch for local shows/expos in your area. Many times you can find a variety of Corns at those.

The shipping is not fun, especially when it's more than the snake itself, but it is a necessary evil in this hobby. Most of mine were shipped. I'm afraid to add up what I've paid in shipping. LOL

The best way to make the most for your money is get 2-3 hatchlings shipped at the same time, from the same person.

yeah but i dont want that many snakes lol. i just want one. i don't see the need for more then 1 of each kind except you're breeding and need different sexes/morphs, or just want a male and female. but thats just me. my local reptile store has a real nice anery ive been eyeing for a couple of weeks but after seeing what butter adults and what miami adults look like its making it real hard lol.

I've got some butters for sale, 2011's and 2010's. Shipping is running $44.79 to you from AZ. Some variation in the shipping prices is due to distance, while other things could be if people charge handling, add for packaging, eat part of the shipping to look like it's cheap, choose different options, etc.

I've got some other snakes available as well if you do decide on any extras. They ship free and actually bring their own discount for being additional snakes :)

Contact me via my website for more info or see http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116857 .

You see such a wide range of shipping costs not only because of the economy(fuel costs), the distance, the size of the box but also because some breeders get a greater discount from FedEx because of the volume of packages they ship and the extended time they have been using FedEx. Someone that only ships 10-20 packages a year for the past 4 years doesn't qualify for the same discount as someone who ships 100-200 packages a year for the past 20 years.

I now have a 2009 Miami female (LBR bloodlines, that I got from someone else), & a 2010 Miami male, partial zigzag patterning.
